An Algerian man stabs police officers in southern France

 In southern France, an assailant stabbed police officers Monday morning, thwarting them.After noon the bomber struck shortly in front of a crowd of mourners.

In the French Riviera town of Cannes in northern France, an assailant stabbed a police officer.Which was thwarted.  According to media reports, the accused chanted the slogan "In the name of the Prophet of Islam" before the incident.It is yet to be confirmed by other sources.The incident took place on Monday.

Qin Police Station

 The assailant, whose name has not been released, opened fire on a car parked outside a police station in Qin and stabbed an officer in the driver's seat.He then stabbed another police officer, but by then a third police officer had opened fire.The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of mourners, according to BFMTV and Nice Matin.

 The police officer was not injured in the attack.  He was wearing a bulletproof vest, which saved him from any injuries.The French Interior Minister has confirmed that the police officer is safe.

After the incident, the French Foreign Minister visited Qin and said, "We can breathe a sigh of relief today.Although we were psychologically traumatized, no police officer was injured.

 Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused is an Algerian citizen who has an Italian residence permit.That is, he had traveled to France legally.He has no previous record and is therefore not under surveillance.

Southern France Attack 

 The attack in southern France comes as President Emmanuel Macron seeks to convince his constituents that his government has full control over the country's security and crime.Elections are set to take place in France six months later, in which the far-right forces and conservative parties are likely to pose a serious challenge to the macros.McCormack is seeking a second term in office.

 The city of Cannes in France is especially famous for its world-renowned annual film festival.

 Significantly, the attack comes at a time when Saleh Abdul Islam, the only surviving suspect in the November 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris, is on trial.  The Islamic State attack killed 130 people.
