TAI's ANKA III UAV Ghost Plane in the Sky

The ANKA III unmanned combat aircraft, developed by TAI, made its first flight. ANKA III, also known as "stealth aircraft", will be able to perform many tasks such as reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence, attack with different air-ground munitions, enemy helicopters with air-to-air munitions, propeller aircraft, prey scanning by engaging UAVs, neutralizing enemy RF emitting radar and air defense systems, signal and communication intelligence and electronic warfare.

Ghost Plane

Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), the ANKA III unmanned aerial vehicle stayed in the air for 1 hour and 10 minutes on its first flight. ANKA III, which has low visibility in enemy radars due to its design structure, is also known as a "stealth aircraft", but thanks to its features, it can perform many missions at the same time.

PHOENIX III TAKES OFF FOR THE FIRST TIME

According to the statement made by the company, another important milestone has been left behind in the ANKA III project, which was originally developed with domestic resources. ANKA III, Turkey's first vertical tailless turbofan-powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), successfully made its first flight.

ANKA III WAS IN THE AIR FOR MORE THAN 1 HOUR

The first flight of ANKA III lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes. Reaching an altitude of 8,000 feet, ANKA III reached a speed of 150 knots. ANKA III, which cut wheels from the runway at 08.38, also performed the test of bypassing the runway in this flight. The flight of ANKA III was accompanied by the HÃœRKUÅž basic training aircraft and ANKA unmanned aerial vehicle, which were developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries with domestic facilities.

WHAT CAN ANKA III DO?

ANKA III, a new generation UAV system, will be able to perform many tasks such as reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence, attack with different air-ground munitions, enemy helicopters, propeller aircraft, hunting scan by engaging UAVs with air-to-air munitions, neutralizing enemy RF emitting radar and air defense systems, protection of friendly forces in the air and land, signal and communication intelligence, electronic warfare, operation and communication relay with other friendly elements.

The ANKA III system will be able to carry 650 kilograms of ammunition at each of the two stations in the fuselage, 650 kilograms at each of the wing internal stations, and 100 kg at each of the outer stations. Thus, the integration of many options will be ensured, from the most commonly used munitions in today's unmanned aerial vehicles to large munitions such as SOM-J, MK-82 and bunker-piercing bombs.

With a maximum cruising speed of 0.7 mach and an altitude base of 40 thousand feet, ANKA III has a payload capacity of 1200 kilograms and a stay in the air for 10 hours.

ALSO KNOWN AS A "GHOST PLANE"

This unmanned combat aircraft, which has a "flying wing" structure, stands out with its features such as high speed and large carrying capacity. In addition, ANKA III is also known as a "stealth aircraft" due to its low radar signature.
