Beautiful stories

Pakistan and the Prisons Human Rights

Pakistan is surrounded by innumerable problems but some of them are so serious that if you think about it.Your heart starts to sink.It is also a matter of sorrow and grief that as a nation. We do not even realize the seriousness of these issues. They have also been ignored by our media and are not the subject of national debate. One of these serious problems is depriving a person of his liberty and depriving him of his basic rights without proving his guilt.

Hazrat Umar Farooq Governor of Egypt

The second caliph is a famous event of the caliphate of Hazrat Umar Farooq, Hazrat Umar bin As, was the governor of Egypt.A man from Egypt reached Madinah and came to the service of Hazrat Omar Farooq.

He cried out, "O Amir al-mu'minin, I have run with the ruler of Egypt".When I won, the son of the ruling class flogged me and said, "I belong to the elite and I am the son of a big family".Amir al-mu'minin wrote a letter to the Governor of Egypt.

Hazrat Umar bin As, summoning him to Madinah with his son.The governor of Egypt arrived immediately and attended the Khilafah court.

Hazrat Omar Farooq asked, "Where is the Egyptian?"Be present.

They ordered him to grab the whip and kill the governor's son. When the Egyptians started flogging, Hazrat Omar Farooq started saying, Hit the son of this big family more. After being sentenced, Amir al-mu'minin Hazrat Umar Farooq. While addressing the Governor of Egypt, Hazrat Umar bin Aas, uttered a great sentence.Which still has the status of a golden rule regarding human greatness.

"Since when did you start enslaving people when their mothers set them free?"

This great saying of Hazrat Omar Farooq is recognized not only by the people of Islam but also by the whole world as a principle regarding human rights.

Today's world considers itself civilized and developed. This advancement in civilization or science is very important, but have we also become civilized and advanced in terms of basic human rights.

This is a big topic I don't want to talk about right now.The fact is that while the West is sensitive to the rights of its citizens. It is less sensitive to the rights of others.

United States Citizen Freedom

The United States, which calls itself an ancient democracy, has very strict rules regarding the freedom of its citizens. It is not easy to arrest someone and deprive them of their freedom, but on the other hand. The United States has also built prisons like Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib where human beings are treated very badly.

Dr. Aafia Siddiqui is also lodged in a prison in the United States and no one has any sympathy for this oppressed woman.

Pakistan Human Rights Violations

Today my subject is my homeland Pakistan where human rights violations do not matter. Our constitution is very sensitive about basic human rights. Many articles guarantee these rights.Along with the parliamentary system and Islamic clauses, fundamental rights are also considered part of the basic constitutional framework.

Our courts have also made historic decisions regarding the protection and respect of these rights.Even in martial law, the judiciary did not allow the suspension of fundamental rights.

But despite all this,

Fo we really respect basic civil rights?

This is a very bitter question.Let go of freedom of movement, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, etc.It is not surprising to deprive a person of freedom under any pretext and put him in jail.No arrest warrant is required for this.

No formal FIR is required. It will be ready later as needed. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of such examples. Our prisons are full of prisoners who are being punished for uncommitted sins.

Imagine a person being arrested and imprisoned for any crime. So far he is not guilty, he is just guilty. For months, the police did not present his challan in court.

Then, when the court proceedings begin, it lasts for months, even years. At each hearing, such defendants are taken out of prison cells, put in a "prison van" like sheep and brought before a court.

Going there, it is clear that the judge is unwell today. So the court will not work.Or the news that the lawyers have gone on strike.Or it turns out that one of the parties' lawyer did not appear for some reason. So the date fell a couple of months later. The handcuffed accused are once again chased away and put in a vehicle and taken to jail.

Basic Human Rights

Here is the constitution. There are beautiful clauses in the constitution about basic human rights. There is also a system of law. There is also a justice system. There is also great live media.

There are also organizations claiming to protect human rights. There are also large bar associations that are very active in advocating for their rights.

Despite all this,

  • Does anyone know how many such prisoners are in our jails?
  • Does anyone know how long he has been in jail?
  • Does anyone know when their appeals have been filed in which court?
  • Has anyone tried to find out how much they have paid to lawyers so far ?
  • Is there any governmental or semi-governmental or non-governmental organization that has contacted the families of prisoners.Who have been in jails for a long time and tried to find out. What is happening to them?
  • How is their time going?
  • How are they paying for the trial?

The saddest thing is that such prisoners go through years of justice and one day. When the Supreme Court gives its final verdict. It turns out that the person was completely innocent. No crime was committed.

Therefore, he should be released. He is released, but ten, twelve, or fifteen years of imprisonment has ruined not only his personal life. But also the life of his entire family. Our constitution is silent on how to determine those responsible for the unjust punishment meted out to such a person and why they should be punished.

Note:

What is the constitution, we are all silent and we no longer feel this oppression.Sounds normal.I wish someone would pay attention to this and try to find out what stories such prisoners are sitting for.
