According to a statement from the Israeli Armed Forces, a "precision strike" was carried out on the Hezbollah Headquarters, which was located under residential buildings in Beirut.

After the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's office announced he was returning early from the US, cutting short his trip as they prepare for retaliation from Iraq.

Earlier the Israeli military announced it had launched new strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon, minutes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UN in a confirmation that military operations against the Lebanese armed movement.
