The withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan is in its final stages.Meanwhile, the Taliban have stepped up their violence.Experts believe that in this deteriorating situation, regional powers could change their policies in the war-torn country.

India is a key player in regional aid to the Afghan government. The New Delhi government has invested heavily in India over the past two decades.

Indian Government Investment in Afghanistan

India's investment in Afghanistan amounts to more than 3 billion, including the construction of dams as well as the construction of highways, schools and hospitals. In addition, Indian investment is involved in the construction of a new parliament building in Kabul.

However, Indian projects in Afghanistan could not have been completed without the help of US security. Now, in September, when all US forces return from Afghanistan. There are fears that the troubled country could once again fall into the Taliban's favor. It is not surprising that the problems for India in the Taliban-ruled Afghanistan are twofold.

Threat to India's interests

Indian policymakers are keeping a close eye on the situation in Afghanistan.New Delhi is confident that its traditional rival Pakistan will support Muslim militants in Afghanistan. These militants are claiming to have occupied a large part of the country even before the complete withdrawal of foreign forces. Thus endangering India's strategic interests in this Central Asian country.
